I just purchased a 44 loader yesterday for my 332. After giving it some thought I was thinking I may rather use on my 420. What all needs changed to make it work? I was thinking I would for sure need a different pump?

Jeff -

Main component needed would be the 420 mounting brackets for a swap . Then and only then can you worry about the pump ; which would be usable from the 322 , but may have to "field reversed" for proper rotation . Then you will need the correct fitment items for driving said pump from the 420's Front/Mid PTO . Before all this , hopefully you come to your senses , and just go with the 44 on your 332 as the mounting brackets and pump were designed for .

Agree with Dave. The 44 loaders were really model specific. The 300 series fits on the 300 series. The 420 and 430 are different sub-frames and the controls are longer bent back toward the operator for the 430. I have seen a 430 loader work on a 420 but not the other way around. And I never have seen or heard of a 300 series going to the 400 series as the both the pump and sub-frames are different. But-the loader itself-is the same. The pumps are meant for engine speed on the 300 series and belt drive. The 400 series is shaft drive and 2000 RPM as well as oposite orientation. Also-the 300 series-lift I think 450 LB vs 500 on the 400 series if I remember right.

You can leave the sub-frame on as a mower-but now the loader/pump. But I think I saw one picture of a 430 with the pump mounted to the rear 2000 RPM PTO which then would give you the way to mow with it on-but-it is a lot of load for the grass then.

If you have a large place to mow and the 420 has the 60 inch deck....then use the 44 loader on the 332. The loader is only used every now & then, and the 332 will be just as good as the 420, but the 420 will out mow the 332.

Thanks, installed loader, I'm impressed it does a lot better then I thought. Only have a little over a acre so when 420 is completed probably will sell since I have a 318 and 332.
