Jeffrey there are You Tube videos on how to put on garden tractor tire chains. They would be more helpful than me typing a few paragraphs of text and confusing you. The fast answer is the hook goes through the link in the chain and then doubles back itself and hooks on one of the links on the chain. I will see if I can find a video for you as I just saw one recently. Roger

I think that you have the same problem the fellow in the article I posted had. If you click on the link above it will take you right to where his problem was and is on yours. Basically you need to go back about 2 links, push your hook through the a link and then turn the hook over so it faces the bottom of the wheel and then hook it on. It is to dark now but I will take some pictures of my 70 tomorrow if you need them. I do think you can see it in that MTF article. Roger

Thanks for the help Roger, I believe i have the issue figured out-theres not much room to finagle the chains. I'm going to have to wait for a time when I have more patience. I cleaned the snow out of the driveway without them and it worked great. The homemade weight box on the back helped a ton.

Morning Jeffery,
Just a humble opinion, but if you pick up the extra chain and put the connector hook on the bottom of the link you're hooked into the hook will slide easier and will have a better angle for hooking back as Roger explained. I fought this on one of my set of chains and after I moved the slack out of the way it went together easily.
