Hey guys I need a driveshaft and engine adapter for a 1974 140 kohler 14hp I found a1976 300 with a 16 hp kohler would they be the same hub or driveshaft

I had a 140 with a 16 horse I just switched to a 14 horse and it bolted right up

Dale, Check the parts diagrams at jdparts.com and compare the two part numbers and specs. I don't think they will interchange. Pretty sure the 312-314-316K are the only ones that all match there. I don't think my 140 was the same as they are but I didn't go look.
