I like the hold-down but despise green anno. I'm subjected to it because of the brand motorcycles I ride. Comes off with spray oven cleaner.

Just FYI, lye will remove any color anodizing, not just green.

Yes, I'm aware coming from a Vintage Motorcycle/MX/BMX restoration background. The color just bothers me, same with the "yellow". Blue, red, black and clear are good tho. lol

I would not remove the anodizing (the actual hard layer of anodizing accepts the dye, but also protects the aluminum). Just paint it and go. You may need to use an etching primer.

You need to replace that cooler setting off to the side with a properly toned green one.
