Do you guys have any tricks to applying glaze to fill rust pits on the slats of a 420 grill? Right now I am using the spreader and doing the best I can to get the contours right but it is leaving large ridges to sand off

i would use a high build primer. prime and sand till the pits are gone. worked real well on the pits in my 80 cart. take a couple times but sands way easier than filler.

That is what I have been doing with Buff primer but some of these pits are >1/32 deep

The PO let the old girl just rust away, I figured my half assed resto will be better than that
