They look just as good as the ones I just put in my 212.

You know what they say about opinions.... everyone has one. My opinion is that from the pictures they look fine. Get ready for sticker shock if you use JD/OEM as when I checked JDParts with my dealer selected I got $48.50 for just one M46201 isolator. The aftermarket supplier that I purchased these from before has increased their pricing as well and is currently selling them for $16 each.

If they are staying in, make sure none of the rivets are broken. Can wear out the half-moon in the frame in a hurry.

The normal point of failure is the mounting tabs, which tend to break off. The hardened rubber will not absorb vibration as well, so the necessity of replacement, if the mounting tabs are intact, is your personal tolerance for vibration.
Personally, I don't think new mounts make much difference. :) 212, 314, 216, 400,........

On both the 212 & 216 with old mounts anything I put on top of engine while idling would walk right off/vibrate off. With new mounts I can leave screwdriver, pliers, etc. on engine while idling and they vibrate a little but stay put. The 216 also shakes less after you turn they off.

Do you know what the idle rpm of your 212 is set at where the tools stay on the engine?

True, but there is no other way to adjust idle circuit on carb. They also run at idle for a minute or so before they are turned off. Haven't checked the idle speed on either one since setting the carbs/idle according to service manual...can't remember that value offhand.

JD and Kohler recommend between 1100 and 1700 for low idle depending on applications. High idle around 3400 or 3500. I feel mine is alot lower at least when cold. I dont low idle it unless it's sitting still, never while under a load doing work. Edcbill is right, they need some rpm to lubricate and cool properly.

The mounts look ok but that doesn't tell the whole story. Gotta run it to tell how much movement there is.
