Hi Guys,

Been a while since I've been on the site. Wondering if someone knows the answer to this. I have a P218 block I want to use, but I only have the cylinder heads from a B43G. Since the displacement is different I'm worried there may be differences in the heads that could lead to too much compression. Anybody have both heads laying around that could compare them?

Cheers

Thanks so much guys. Heads are now on and tapped for the p218 sheet metal mounting. Was also wondering about using a p220 carb on a p218? I have both carbs, but the p218 carb is pretty loose around the shafts. I'm guessing the p220 is jetted a little richer but in nice shape. Wondering if it would affect the motor enough to notice.

boomer I see you say the P heads can be used if the extra holes are tapped, but the OP asked if the B43G head could be used on the P218 block. Was curious myself is all.

P 218 carb 120 main jet and # 205 venturi
P 220 carb 134 main and # 238 venturi.
the P 220 carb will flow a lot more fuel and air.
the bad thing is you really need the P 220
camshaft to complete the package.

erik.
yes the B heads can be used on the P block,
but the extra holes for the P sheet metal
will need to be drilled and tapped.
thank you boomer
