Last night, I was mulching up some of my leaf-drifts from the wind we've had over the last week, and I would find that the tractor was sucking up as many leaves through the flywheel and engine tins as it was through the deck!
I do have the belly screen installed and in good condition, but it seems like it was sucking them up from behind the screen, directly over the deck. The 317 Onan only has the partial firewall, which extends little past the bottom of the battery box. I see that the 318's have a longer fire wall, is this for better air intake direction? I can fabricate an extended firewall if this would eliminate the leaf sucking problem.
Any opinions? Thanks!
