Busted steering column

Doing a little more maintanence to my 110 before spring is fully here, and glad im finding this out now. After doing the front wheel hubs i wanted to tighten up the column, and going to do the front axle bushings. Well when i crawled under the tractor i couldnt belive it. The whole lower section of the steering box was broken clean off. I found a guy near me with a used one out of a later year 110, but has a different i guess what would be the pitman arm?? Would this work in my 68? And can i use the steering shaft and tube out of myin and swap them to the one he has?

I think that one would make the steering backwards, IIRC.

Well i picked up a used column yesterday. Stripped it down and painted the tube, pitman arm, and repacked the bearings. Straightened the bent steering arm and put new tierodends on. Steerings pretty much 100% brand new now so should be good for another 55 years lol.

Yeah the whole frontend was pretty wooped on this thing. Tapered bearings in the front rims were beat so i did trailer hubs on the front. Front axle pivot bushing and bolt were worn really bad so replaced that stuff also lol....so im sure its gonna be a night and day difference. cant wait to get it back up and going. It all started with a carb rebuild and new points then it turned into repainting all the engine tins pulling the head and cleaning the carbon and the entire steering setup hahah...
My '67 was the same. Started just to get running better and ended up stripping down and painting and replacing things. Steering wasn't bad but put new bearing s in column and tie rod ends. It's only a roller at this point but does steer nice.

Getting closer and lookin good if i must say.. and steers very smooth now...nothing like fresh paint. Still waiting on the headgasket so ordered new fuel hose, and a fuel shutoff valve that screws into the tank being it doesnt have one also ordered a "poormans powersteering" thrust washers for the spindles...
