I have a 1973 140 H3 with a Carter carb. I guess it is a Carter, it isn't the Walbro. Anyway, the choke shaft doesn't look like anyone else's and the choke cable can't be hooked up without rigging it.

What part do I need to put the correct choke shaft on it?

Thanks

Okay, him going to show my ignorance and throw myself on the mercy of the court.

When I restored my 1973 140 H3, I sent the engine off to be gone through and the carb rebuilt. Meanwhile, I tore it down and did everything else. And months later out it back together and started adding wheel weights, hitch plow, etc.

I never mowed with it and it has been in storage at mt dads farm for like 8 years.

I am getting ready to take it back and mow with it and I asked my dad to look in the choke Venturi and read the number to me so I know which carb it has.

He just called and said it reads 26.

From what I am reading, this is the wrong carb for my tractor. I always knew the coke shaft looked different because the choke cable was rigged to work but didn't look like anyone else's.

So I want to take this off and replace it with a Kohler #30 right?

Where should I get one and what about the $100 non OEM ones on eBay?

I can't afford to spend $350 on a carb right now so need some advice on what to buy and where to get it.

It just came from a Kohler shop and they took the carb apart and cleaned it but never said a word about it not being the right one.

Help!
