Has anyone changed the hydraulic controls on a 318 from a 318 to the controls from a 400? It would be nice not to be limited by a lockout valve on the rear hydraulics. I want to be able to have a snow blade on the rear 3 point with the snow blower using the front ports for lifting and chute rotation.
I checked into that when I did mine and found out there are some interference problems with the 3-spool units. It had to do with the belly screen I think. I used a single spool kit that had all the needed hardlines. Search the site , there are lots of posts on this type of upgrade.
I would go with 12v chute rotation. It a lot less work.
If you really want hydraulic, it would be easier to install two quarter turn lock out valves, or a diverter if they are available. Mount them someplace to rear from the seat.
I have Ron's kit on both of my 332's and am currently running a 47 snow blower (hyd lift and chute rotation) and a rear blade on the 3 point since I now have tar/cement for a driveway vs gravel. No modifying of the belly screen needed (although a 420/430 valve I have heard will work with some cutting of that).
I used Ron's kit. It came with the 3rd lever that fit into the existing hole. He's a good guy to work with. I have a very early 318 and we had problems fitting the new hard lines. He custom built me a new hard line that worked great. If I had to do it again, that's the way I would go.
I also have the kit from AuxHyd on a 332. Works great. Takes a little work to get everything installed but I have had no issues. I have a rear outlet kit waiting to be installed when I take the fender pan off.
