Hello everyone, I was working on my 140 and discovered that the stator appears to be fried. I've done some looking and a 10 amp stator doesn't seem to be too readily available but the 15 does. I was wondering if anyone has tried this and what all it entails. Thanks, Jeff

The flywheel and regulator need to be changed as well. The 10 amp flywheel doesn't fit over the 15 amp stator. There are many used Kohler flywheels out there, and quite a few, but not all, will work on a 140.

Thanks for the info guys, I hopefully can get something around. I'm rebuilding the motor and naturally the harder one looks the more you discover. This project started from a simple head gasket change, now the engine is out, the wiring needs redone and I'm sure I'll find more as I look. Gotta love working on these old tractors!
