I have found a cab not to far from me that the owner says was on a 420. Does anyone know the differences between mounting from 420 to 400. Also I thought the 420 had doors that hinged from the back and the 400 hinges from the front.

Thanks.

You are correct on the hinges. The mounting for the yellow bodied cab with 2 piece front windshield is different. They will fit on the fender pans without much issue. The closed frame tractors had bars that pined in and rested on the frame that way. The green bodied one is a single front windshield and is a ROPS design that has frame mounts - that bolt through the fender pan. I have the green one which is for the open frame tractors.

Since you have the 400 this cab likely would work if it either comes with the correct mounts or you make them.

Thanks Travis. That was what I thought. On my next days off I will probably drive over and see what mounts he has and make an offer accordingly. He is willing to come down because it's not the best time to sell and it's been listed over a month.

Thanks agian

Best way to haul a cab and to make sure everything is there-is to have the tractor ready to mount the cab onto. I bought one 420 with the Cozy cab to transfer to my 332 so I new it had the mounts. Bought the other 420 with a JD softside cab that is also attached so I know it has everything. And-hauling a cab not attached with glass is a lot harder. Good luck and update us what happens.
