I've been trolling through the archives but havent found anything to help fix my 316k "creep". I have the manual for the 316 (Onan) but of course its a very different setup. Can some one post/email instructions for adjusting the hydro and what parts I should look at to replace.

Thanks guys, WFM rocks!

My 455 shows 1147 hours on the meter, but I've read the instrument panel is a commonly replaced part so it could be higher. Engine always starts immediately and makes no smoke, but it's down to 5mph top speed and it should be 8. Based on my readings, it's probably the charge pump in the transaxle.

Looking for advice. Any good alternatives to having the dealer install a new charge pump (around $1200)?

I've changed the filter and fluid, checked the top vent. Read through both the Tuff Torq and JD tech manuals. Looks like it could be about 6 different things.

Also looking for a group/forum of K9x tranaxle moders. If I have to rebuild this thing, I'd like to get all the necessary parts to up the speed to 10mph. I assume it's probably ring and pinion and a few springs to alter pressure, but of course it could be more complicated.

Anyone know where all the TuffTorq K9x transaxle hot rodders hang out?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul,

Does the engine's RPM drop?

What readings did you take and what were the results?

I have repaired a number of K91's which are in the 4X5 models not K92's as many people think. Yes there is a difference.

You will have no clue as to what parts are required until you disassemble and inspect the parts.

You might need a replacement hydro pump or motor.

First you need to verify the charge pump pressure is within normal limits, then you should check the hydro pump and motor.
