Will a 18hp magnum from a 1811 cub with a 1"1/8x 2 51/64 shaft fit in my JD 317 without too much modification? The engine has a 4.5" electric PTO on it already. I could always get my PTO bored out to fit the shaft but will length of the shaft be a issue?. I have searched for hours and have yet to come up with something that is specific to my question.. Any insight would be great..Thanks Corey

I think (but could be wrong) that the shaft length isn't a big issue. The factory shafts are long enough that a sleeve/spacer is needed at the end. One place where the extra length is used is to add a second pulley in front to run a extra hydraulic pump for a loader.
