Well with my trusty back up L100 giving me fits. Needs valves adjusted again and probably a new battery, and the 317 throwing oil from the seals. I decided to go with a repower for the 317. Getting a Vanguard 18 horse from Jim's Tractor. I have been super satisfied with the one I put in the 314 but from what many of you have said in here Jim is the dude to go with. Thought about the 23 horse but for what I will be doing with it the extra bucks for a few ponies wasn't worth it. 18 horses will do just fine. Should be shipped on Friday so if I get some time will go ahead and start tearing down the 317 so the swap will be quicker and it will be ready for fall yard work. My yard vac is set up for that deck so want to get her going quickly. Glad I got my shed done so it won't have to sit outside while being worked on. Got some work to do on the 314 too, fix the fender deck and rear lights. Got new hydro relief valves for the 314 I suspect that could be one place its leaking since it seems to be coming from the top of the hydro, need to clean the trans up to be sure. Once I get the 317 up and running I can get her ready for winter duties and tear down the 314 for that. Poor 140 taking another step back waiting for me to get that engine back together.

Got an email that the Vanguard has been shipped. Should be here the 25th. Need to start the tear down so won't be long to get new engine installed. Should be fairly easy. Putting the one in the 314 wasn't too bad but did a bit more refurbishing on it. This one just needs the engine. Will keep the old engine around. Never know might find another 317 missing an engine and rebuild the old one.
