Having problem with a Linamar replacement engine. Was mowing and idle it down to a idle ,when open it up started knocking & blue smoke came out the exhaust . Sounded like spark knock . Checked compression 120 psi +/- 3 psi. I did put new rings in it didn't see anything wrong inside engine . Still don't run right, like its out of time checked flywheel key ok .Can't figure this one out [HELP] THANKS DAVE

Not really any way to get an ignition timing problem without a partially sheared flywheel key on that engine.

Plug wires OK? Engine breathing properly? Engine overheating from clogged fins?
