Though you guys might like to see ‘um. My wife and I used the pair to finish upgrading my drive with 120 tons of material. The heavy work was done by my 59 Ford 971, but these two finished it up. They’re keepers.

So ??? … Let me get this picture Straight here …..Of the Duo I can totally get the FEL Tractor …..NOW the Other with the mower ??? …. Do you engage the mower to Spread the Gravel around evenly, with a dual purpose of Gravel Blasting the under side of the Deck to remove Last Years accumulated grass build-up !!! ….

Quite a few Years ago ….. '85 to be exact Dad was building their Retirement Home, and we (I) had a neighbour that had a 317 with the FEL ….. I used it to spread ALL of the sand in the Basement foundation for prep to the cement slab …. this size of the machine was perfect …. Sure Beat the Heck outta doing it by Shovel and Wheelbarrow …..
It was that Little 317 that convinced Dad to Buy himself a Retirement Present ….. in the Form of the 318 2 years later …. Again Very Nice DUO !!!

Yeah, I know, I'm lazy. I had grass to mow after and didn't want to take the time to drop the deck. Just left it lifted and used an extension on the sleeve hitch to pull the roller.

The utility of these little deeres never ceases to amaze me.

Did your father's 318 fever rubbed off on you?

Scott : …. Fever yes "CRAZY" Not ! …. My Dad passed back in '97 … so it's been mine to use ever since …. the only other attachment specific to the 318 is the 54" 4-way front blade ….I think he used it once to push snow, but opted to buy a Honda Snowblower for that purpose …. other than dragging a JD 48" lawn sweeper and pulling a boat & trailer down to the Lake (we are water front on a 10 mile long Lake, full of Trout & Kokanee) …. it's been a vital grass eating machine every summer week since '87 … just did a Re-power and it became even more awesome … LOL … now look forward to cutting every week (4-1/2 acres of Lawn) …. I have a very large Bobcat with some 22 attachments to do the kind of work you posted about … LOL
