Any advice on what engines can be installed as a replacement motor in my 165 Hydro? It is in too good a condition to go to the parts bin. Like to increase the HP a bit if possible. Costs and best way to locate a replacement motor? Is it worth considering a rebuild? Engine is running but things are sounding a bit "loose" inside.

k for 1 wrong place but i don't think anything but a kawasaki 560 i think it was will fit. i know it has the 460 now rated at 12.5hp but the 560 if i recall was rated at 15 or 16hp. bad thing is i think theres some differences in the 160-175s then the 180s and 185s. i might be wrong though.

Doug go to this site http://smallenginewarehouse.com/. They sell repower kits and see if they have an engine that will fit your tractor. If they do not there probably isn't one that will fit. Roger
