I have searched for quite a while and can't seem to find much info on my problem, so I'm hoping someone can either help me or point me to a previous thread.

I have a 425 with belly mower and 40 Series loader. I noticed that I seem to be losing hydraulic power over time; I've changed fluid and filter with no help. It's been over a year since this started and it has gotten significantly worse. Here's how it started:

When I was mowing and the PTO was running I would go in reverse, and then would have a lag when pushing the pedal forward until it finally would lunge.

Then I noticed I didn't seem to have as much lifting power from my loader.

And now I have very little lifting power on my loader and my bucket will start to curl under unless it's in the FULLY up; even without a load.

I am pretty handy, but know NOTHING about hydraulics. My assumption is my pump possibly needs replaced or something, but again, I have no idea. I called my local JD shop and they can't even schedule me a time for at least 5 weeks; and then it could be weeks after that before they actually get me in. So I'm hoping someone here can help me start some troubleshooting steps on my own.

Check your lever on the right rear and make sure it is all the way down or toward the front of the tractor. If this is toward the back it will hold the relief valves open and not allow full pressure to to trans.

Look under tractor at linkage for visual apparent slack or lose linkage

The following garble has nothing to do with the response to this post.

RAJO DAJO Gary

Look wrong place hahahaha
