Bill, load the bed and you have the best plowing JD 3xx out there.

I saw the title and thought it was one of your projects. Very nice work, and offering my first want add makes me want to shake your hand and say nice work sir.

Bill,

I like it !!

Does the tag axle swivel in relation to the primary one on uneven ground? That seemed to be a minor shortcoming with the AMT and the 6x4 Gators... Perhaps it is just that my property was so rough down in the orchard.

...so tell us a little bit about this 316 -- late model hood and 317? front sheet metal with earlier deck height adjust and dual spools and split brakes... Also looks like an early steering set-up and a closed frame deck.

First thanks for the kind words. Now for some answers. I used parts from tractors that were headed for the scrap yard. An early 316, a 317 and a later 316.
I was worried about the turning also. I left the brakes off the front axle thinking I could use the individule wheel brakes to help. I dont need to brake the wheel to turn. Had no problem at Portland today. Each axle has a differential, unlike a Gator only has one. The axles are connected by a chain.
And also I have ideals for three more tractors.

Bill I saw you at Portland today but I was leaving as you were headed over to the show in your 6x4. Good thing you took a 4x4 over to the show today to get threw all the mud that was over there LOL

I meant the gators second axle was driven by a chain, using only one differential.
My back axle is driven by the pto shaft from the front axle.
Remove the fan and use a coulping with a split pin, and another drive shaft. Very simple.
