Hey guys I broke a little black box beside the flywheel of my 69 140 I believe it is for spark advance ! Do I even need it ? There's a white wire running from it not hooked to anything and the tractor is already converted to points !

In that case no you don't need it but it is a very rare part so do not throw it away. I few people still use that electronic ignition part (spark advance). It may already be bad as most died fairly early but you never know. Roger
