I was looking at the cost of replacement seats for a 212 and they are more than I want to spend. Im just looking for a decent look and comfort. I then thought about reupholstering the seat myself with foam, glue, and vinyl. I searched but didnt find any posts on this. Has anyone reupholstered there seat before?

That used to be a pretty common thing to do here. Not too much these days though. The old threads on that topic are likely in the archives or maybe gone. There was a site upgrade and some data loss along the way.

Are you talking about a correct seat being more than you wanna spend or seats in general? I see the generic yellow ones on sale occasionally for 80 or 90 bucks at the surplus/Chinese hardware store in my area. Sometimes the seat cover material is not very good and they absorb grime like that's what they were designed to do.
The price of a seat isn't a huge deal for aftermarket at around $100. I'm more interested in buying foam and vinyl and trying it myself. Its the process thats fun. Sure it wont look as good but should be very functional. I was just surprised at how handy people are here yet it seems no one has done it before.
