thanks again guys I'm honored to be a member of this site I'm from eastern Ohio and work at the local Cub Cadet dealer and have been buying selling and trading vintage garden tractors as a hobby for years for the past twelve years I've was strictly a Bolens guy but had always wanted a John Deere 318 for the versatility of the implements but had introduced a Case 444 that i purchased for $200 threw a set of points in it a good service and mowed a season with it but as many of my tractors it wound up on craigslist where I traded it for a 316 that was ready for the scrap pile and thats where i"ll start this saga as it was my first Deere but not the one that gave me Deere fever. This 316 was my John Deere learning curve the previous owner said it had no spark so he replaced the coil but no go it had the p218 so i knew it was the module so i did an even trade then pulled the engine and replaced the module and ring and it fired right up and ran great with 125 psi in each cylinder I used it to push some dirt around in preparation for a concrete drive which was around 3 hrs I stopped for a break and when i went to start it after an hour no spark again with a quick test I found it was the module again after multiple tests I found the condenser was bad and spiked the module when I shut it down so out came the engine again and another new module later I was up and going but all this did not happen over night as I work on tractors for a living and am sometimes not real motivated to do so at home and every time I tried to mow with it some thing would happen the mowing season was over so I gave it a lot of love in Nov Dec in preparation for plowing snow but it was a mild winter and didnt get to use it but that same winter a customer had traded in his 318 and I purchased it for $600 and thats another story. 20180812_104856.jpg 20190830_174003.jpg 20190714_115540.jpg 20190714_123645.jpg 20190721_100854.jpg 20190724_053127.jpg 20190817_120954.jpg
