Can someone that's repowered a 318 or 420 chime in on how they mounted the front PTO? I removed the smaller bushing from the pulley and now everything slides onto the PTO shaft, I'm curious about how you added the key to secure it to the shaft. I know I'll have to make a plate the PTO mounts to, since the pattern is different on the Onan (vs the Honda).

Nick: Once the sleeve was on, My Onan PTO bolted up to the Honda GX 630. Just use washers to equalize the mounting depth at each bolt. My kit from THE Co,was an absolute nightmare, but the one thing they got right, was the PTO sleeve - it works great. I think they would sell you the sleeve, even if you did not buy their kit.

Nick,
Depending on the model, the Honda's are available with different front PTO shaft.
The smaller one with the 1" strait shaft will need a sleeve or a new clutch.
For the bigger motor with the 1 7/16" strait shaft option, the sleeve is not necessary but some spacers might be needed on the back and on the front depending the position of the motor.
Check this drawing I gave to Dan, it's my setup for my GX670 with the 1 7/16" shaft:

The key is to maintain the gap "A" similar to the Onan.

Yeah, mine has the 1 7/16" shaft. The back of the PTO (with the field coil) fit perfect, and I removed the adapter for the clutch plate. Now there's no keyway in the clutch, but it fits perfect.
