Greetings all:
Would anyone have any suggestions as to evaluating the carb on this model (Briggs Carb 491590) from a mechanical standpoint?
I'm certainly no carb man, and aside from the cleaning aspects, I'm wondering if I should just replace it (they are expensive) if it could be "worn out?" I suspect it is the original carb but the choke seems to work just fine. Should I be checking some other things on it?

John .other than checking the throttle shaft for wear ,,and replacing the needle and seat ,and check your float for leaks ,and relevel the float ,should parallel ,and a new gasket kit .hope this helps David
