JD 216, 37A Blower, Tall Chute and flap mod, and snow plow lube, blowing Heavy wet snow on a 40 degree day .. about a 6 in cut in snow as high as the top of the blower, pulled down to 2600-2800 rpm, no chute plugs, and good elevation and distance. Treat and drive it right, and the 37A will really move a lot of snow! (chains, Filled tires, 100# wheel weights, + tiller) Video: Blowing wet snow

I really like my 140 with the Hydro for Snow blowing as able to match ground speed to snow conditions vs the 200 series where your stuck in gear and you have varitor I know but I had a 214 for tilling and Slow 1st to Fast 1st is not a big jump and slow 2nd might be to fast for snow blowing. Plus the hassle of shifting to Reverse when needed vs the fast shuttle of the Hydro Foot Hydro might be even better.
The hydro is really handy, especially a foot control, works really well to control loading, and a hydro lift is faster than the electric on my 216. I'd use my 314 if I had a blower for it - as it is, I have a blade on the 314 for finesse work.

I also have a Z915, a 400, a Wheel Horse 520 (with a loader), and a 314 (with a blade), so I know and appreciate the handling and convenience of a hydro, especially the speed control when blowing deep, drifted heavy snow (I get deep drifts - 3-4 feet high). Gear tractors are inferior to the hydro for handling and speed control, especially if the hydro has foot controls. I'd eventually like a 2 stage blower and a heated cab for the 400. And a hydraulic lift would be superior to the electric lift on my 216.
