JD 400 Steering Wheel Removal?

Open to suggestions in removing my steering wheel. I've soaked w/PB Blaster ... have it hanging from an overhead hoist ... ruined threads on the steering gear (had left the nut on to "tap" on) and now just hoping to save the wheel ... ideas? Thanks, Bryan.

Bryan the easiest way to get these steering wheels off without damaging anything is using a bearing puller. You Put the bearing puller loose on the steering shaft and using the 2 threaded holes in thread this puller on top of the steering wheel like the pics I have below

This is a Bearing Puller
