The 60" deck that came with my 420 is in bad shape. I know that anything can be repaired, but I need to know what my options are. What decks are compatible with the 420? What about one off of a 425? Thanks for any info!

Lee, 420 & 430 60" decks are the same. The 425 looks the same, but I'm sure the gearbox and driveshaft are a different configuration. I think the 425 driveshaft hooks to the rear whereas the 420/430 hooks to the front.

Can you just turn the 425 gear box around or is it offset?

Thanks Ron. The deck I have has a good gearbox and drive shaft if that makes any difference.

Shady & Lee, I'm not sure since I sold my 425 quite a while ago, but I was just pointing out something to look for. I don't think it will work by just turning it around. You would have to find pictures of both to determine if that is possible.

Lee the 60" deck shell from 755/855 is the same but may require a bit of welding of brackets etc The gearbox is the same except that it is turned around 180 deg. I believe the 60" deck from the 425/45/55 can be made to work
