I bought a 70 with the original motor rebuilt and the guy painted it silver. Is that the original color of the Main motor and the tin black or was it all black? Before I put it all together . I want to paint it if it's not right. Also what is the correct way/design for the whole front grill? I see so many many different ways. Did they do them different in certain years? Right now. Mines paint all black which I'm sure is wrong. Thanks Kalin

The whole motor was originally painted Blitz Black which is a JD color. It is somewhere between semi gloss and satin black. Roger

Okay thanks roger. I bought a JD 70 and he said he rebuilt the motor and it did not he painted it silver. While it's out. Would like to make it correct.
