I have seen a vertical shaft Briggs opposed twin in one. You couldn't do any work with it except pull a wagon but it fit pretty good. I think he had used an engine out of a 116 but those engines could be bought with 14 to 18+ HP. I suspect the V twin would be harder to do because it is physically bigger. I suspect you would need to move or remove the grill among other things. Roger

I have a v-twin 20 hp intek, on a 100, so a 70 should be possible, too.
I had to modify the engine platform mounts, the battery box, pulleys, and the hood( which would be your grill. I didnt have to remove a frpnt grill because it is a 100. The 70 might be more difficult (?)

search for john deere modified 20 hp, and you will see 2 videos on the finished product. ( on the interweb ) You may see something that is helpful. I have pictures, too, but have not been able to upload them, here.
Because im new to this forum, I have not figured out, yet, what I need to do to post them.

Mike take pictures at the lowest resolution you can on your camera. You can't see the difference on a monitor anyway. Size them at 480 x 640. Your maximum size limit is 75 KB but 70 or smaller works better. If the pictures are bigger than 75 KB there are many programs that will let you tweak them to a usable quality size. I use Imagewell but there are others that work as well or probably better. Roger
