Hi,
I have a John Deere 140 tractor (old one) that used to be my father in laws and I want to find a carburetor replacement for it but don’t know the part # I should be looking for. I’ve called several places and get different answers and I think it’s due to them not being able to find anything when I give the S/N. The type looks to be T0586. The S/N looks to be 047768M. Neither are recognized from my experience. It has a Koehler engine S/N 4290221. I just want to make sure I get the right part. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure why you would have issues finding the model year of your tractor...looks like a 1973 to me.
Tire Wheel Vehicle Automotive tire Motor vehicle

From the parts catalog PC1245 document, the following information is available:
Rectangle Font Parallel Slope Pattern

Font Parallel Circle Rectangle Diagram

Font Number Parallel Pattern

Hope this helps...

Thank you. I will take a look. Do they stamp the serial number anywhere else on the frame in the event the plate is wrong? The tractor you posted looks exactly like mine.
