Is it possible to remove the little plate on the side on the engine below the carb and add a fuel pump and have the motor clear the frame with no mods? I have to do something because every time I head up hill the engine sputters and runs short on fuel level ground and down hill it runs fine....

If you still wanted to do that, the plastic diaphragm fuel
pump for the K321 will bolt right up where the block out
plate is and will clear the frame. I did that to my '69
because I have an automotive type fuel filter that screws
directly into the carb at one end, and the glass bowl with
shut off valve screwing into the bottom of the tank.
With all that, I didn't want to depend on just gravity feed.
It works fine.
