That is an interesting idea 'spinning the crank backwards to keep the ACR out of the picture'. In theory it matters not which way direction the crank is rotating as long as both valves are closed during the compression stroke, right?

I know you used gauge since you said you measured 120 psi, so you used the starter to spin it then?

If the problem only shows up with the PTO engaged it could be that when the PTO heats up it shorts out internally due to expansion? Grasping at straws here.
