Dan ,dose it start easy?did you double check your points .020 did the valves get checked ,did you check the clearance on your exhaust valve by rotating the engine back wards,a must, because if you don,t you will be up on the c/r and it will not be adjusted right .,dose it put out blue smoke? did you do a compression check .by rotating in back words ?should be 100 psi .did you re torque the head ,after warm and cool down .is your spark plug set at .035 ,did you go through the carb ,,this is some of the things i would look at ,.hope this helps . David
COMPRESSION IS ONLY 35 FORWARD
ADDED SOME OIL IN PLUG HOLE NO DIFFERECE
WONDER WHAT HE GOT WRONG IN THE REBUILD? I HATE TO TEAR THIS ALL APART

Possible broken piston ring or compression release on cam hanging up. Could also be the valve tappets are set too tight & holding one of the valves open.
kYLE..THE 341 HAS THE ACr SYSTEM I FOUND AND REDUCES COMPRESSIOJN UPON CRANKING FORWARD...I GUESS I LL NEED TO FGURE A WAY TO CRANK BACKWARDS !
I'd have to agree with Kyle, check the valve clearance before you tear it down.

Dan,use a rope ,and tie it to a fin ,and a couple of turns ,and pull ,you will know .David
I'd like to add a moldboard style plow attachment to my gx335. The internet tells me I need a sleeve hitch (JD # LP31357 ?) and a "generic" 1-bottom plow like a Brinly-Hardy Moldboard Plow, Model# PP-510BH

Is this the standard way to approach plowing? Are there cheaper options for the hitch? $300 seems steep for a few pieces of bar stock.
Your tractor will only accept a sleeve hitch, it's not set up for a 3 point hitch- which would be more expensive anyway. The GX tractors need to have the frame of the attachment hook up to the frame of the tractor and the lift mechanism (under the steering wheel). Attachments included a front blade, snowblower, and rear rototiller. Good luck!
