Here is the backstory. I started noticing that on my 317 about every time I drove it I would notice that my oil in my fill line would drop. After sitting in the garage I noticed a little oil sitting on the concrete under the tractor. Upon further inspection I noticed a droplet of oil on the bottom of the tranny line. This is the line located right below the filter and it has a j bend similar to a sink drain. It looks like there might be a leak at the flare connection by the filter. Have you guys ever had to replace this line. Is there a rubber hose you can replace the line with or do you have to stick with the metal. Flared lines and fittings can be a pain and I don't want to really crank down on the flare nut and risk damaging/causing a bigger leak. Any ideas. I just hate continuously topping off my hydro oil (plus it gets a little pricey doing so)!

Ray, I just replaced one that had cracked right below the flare. It must have gotten bumped at some point and then cracked. I couldn't see it until I backed off the nut. A friend of mine who parts out tractors had the line I needed and I just replaced it.

I just finish to remove everything of my 318 for painting the frame.
I had no problem with all the hydraulic connections and this tractor is sleeping outside for few years now.
I agree with Dominico to try to tight it.

Thanks for info guys. Ill keep you posted. Havnt had time to tinker with the 317 this past week. I have been working on rebuilding the old 33 tiller and rebuilding rear pto drive which was trashed when I took it off the tractor. Never ending projects!
