Temp,
We have owned both a Club Car golf cart and an Electric Gator and both were extremely handy and made satisfactory work vehicles on our sloped acreage in Oregon when we owned it. The cart has a work bed fitted that also provides a fold up rear seat when needed, and the gator has the standard turf machine dump bed -- but I added a second bed on a trailer for better firewood chore efficiency. Have had no issues with the electric drive-train on either unit, and we still have the cart.
I bought the cart new as a gift for Sharon, and we added the special rear bed and the side curtains (Oregon is quite wet/misty as you may know...) but the Gator was bought used for just $1200 including cab, to which at the time I added about 4600 for new batteries. Here are some pictures...
...We have used it for several yard parties to allow guests to tour the paths in the back of the acreage -- nice ride quality, and no champagne was spilled...
If you have MILES to cover, maybe the gas units are a better choice, but on 10 acres or so the electric machines are quite handy and free of fumes and most maintenance...
