have a 455 that starts right up sometimes, then sometimes out of the blue , you have to hit the switch several times to get it to turn over. any ideas where to start?

Terry I had the same problem a few years ago and I cleaned the connectors on the key switch and added some dielectric grease. I haven't had any trouble since.
Also, you might check the brake safety switch. Mine did that for several months then quit altogether. The switch was bad. In my case, pushing and releasing the brake several times would get it going when it first started happening.
Terry, when the same thing happened to me, I cleaned all the connections, with no difference - still got an occasional "no crank." So I figured it was probably either the seat switch, the PTO switch, or the brake switch. I decided to replace the PTO switch first, simply because it was the easiest - just pop the old switch out of the dash, unplug, put new switch in. That took care of the problem.

Someone on one of the forums asked about pictures of a 43 blade manual angle kit. I told them when I found the pictures I would post them. So here pictures of the kit I made. I hope this is the right place. Roger
