Went for a walk after Easter dinner on Sunday and saw a 332 sitting in a good friend/neighbors old barn. It was sitting with a GX2XX. Got talking with the CFO & if I can unload a few things, she said go for it.

Before I ask if he wants to sell it, I was wondering if there are any issues with them?
I have an old Kubota B6000 diesel, so I am familiar with diesel engines.
The main reason it caught my eye, I know you can put a 44 loader on it. I have been looking for one for the B6000 but that is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I'm just not sure how common the loaders are in the eastern part of the country.
It has a mower deck (not sure of size) which would help with the back pasture converted to lawn. Takes a while right now with the 110 & 39 deck.
Any insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

332 is a nice machine. a smaller 430 with out diff lock. which can be added in.

loader are around if you hunt, I have seen a few in NE but I dotn have the 1500 or so to buy one yet. CFO said no.

332 has a radiator that's a llil too small, you need to keep it clean inside and out. the water pump isn't easy to remove but not impossible. make sure it don't leak. most of the rest is easy to fix so long as it runs well.

The big things to look for and mitigate:

• Frame cracks; Sometimes up front and sometimes around the brake pedal pivots.
• Engine motor mounts.
• Tranny cross member.
• Air filter - You might want to upgrade to the newer dual stage if you have a single. Dirt is a killer for these Yanmars.

You’ll love the 332, nice machine with plenty of power and it sounds cool too.

Keep in mind a nice 44 loader is going to cost you $2500 unless you find a smoking deal. 332 is a great tractor, but I dont know that buying one and buying a deere loader is the cheapest way out...And if your kubota is a 4x4 it would be a much more capable loader tractor. Could always find a loader from something else and modify the brackets to work on yours.

Guys,
Thanks for the input. I understand that these are 16 HP, correct? My B6000 is 12.5 HP (2 cylinder)and has tons of power, so I can only imagine what these are capable of.
Mike
The B6000 is 4WD, but no power steering. I have seen a few that could be modified for it. Any type of small loader around here is like gold, so it wouldn't surprise me that a 44 goes for that if not more.
I don't know when I will get to talk to him, but at least now I know some things to look for, when we do talk and if he wants to sell.

I got a great deal on an original owner 332 last year. Aside from the typical peeling power coat issues I have had absolutely no issues with it what so ever. I ended up sand blasting and repainting everything. I was lucky, it didn't have cracks in any frame members. I bought a block heater since I use it to move snow up here in New England. The diesel started easily without it when it was in the teens. Keep an eye on the radiator for leaks, keep it absolutely clean, change all fluids and filters. Engine mounts sometimes need replacing due to sagging. I did upgrade to the newer dual stage air filter. BTW I have been looking for 44 loader for it. Prepare to spend more on that than the tractor itself unless you find a killer deal. 332 is a great tractor that if properly maintained will last many many hours.

Thanks for the offer, but with twin boys going to college next fall, we are going to be watching our $$. May have to look you up since your not far from where my one son is going (Morrisville).

I really wasn't looking for another GT, but came across this and thought about it on a whim. When I initially mentioned it to the Mrs., I got the
. Only upon negotiating did she OK it if he wanted to sell it and at the right price, in another words, very cheap.

Get the 332. You can find a loader later. There is other options other then the 44 OEM loader (i.e the buford bucket, etc). The 44 likely is the best for lifting/load distribution but is expensive and not the easiest to remove and finding one close by is hard. But you likely can find them closer then I have from my searches. I had a straight drive all weekend taking turns with my father to pick up my 44 loader in WV. I got a deal at $1500 and the VW diesel with aluminum trailer made it OK but that wasn't the most fun I ever had driving that far.

332 will be a fine mower tractor and more though.

My Mitsubishi (17hp, 4x4) is also not power steering, but it steers lightyears easier than say a 140 with some weight on the front. I have seen in line torque multiplier style retrofit hydraulic assist steering setups but then your putting that much more force through the steering box.

44 loader on a 332 is just one heavy piece of iron. Bucket alone weights over 100lbs empty. All that mass, and then a load in the bucket and traction is really hard to get. And I run 75lb starter weights, 50lb on that, and 6 40lb suitcase on the 3pt, with a diff lock.

Its a nice unit, but not ideal. Sure beats a shovel though.

Unknown hours on the Kubota. Hour meter didn't work when I bought it over 15 years ago and it was on 700+ then. It was used and somewhat abused but had a 44" mower & blade. Although for being a '73, it has served me well. Rebuilt the mower a couple years ago & cylinder on the plow. There is no down pressure on the hydraulics, plus the PTO runs reverse (good old Japanese engineering).
It just doesn't get used much now since I got the 110 with mower, blade & blower. Here it is resting comfortably in the barn. (sorry for the off color tractor).
