I picked up my first snow blower a couple months ago and was curious if these just hook up or do I need something else to hook them up and I assume I run the belt back to the pulley that runs along with the mower deck area? Thanks Kalin

Take the pto cover off and put the belt on the engine pulley. The pto cover will go back on turned to the front. A thrower manual shows a small piece of pipe 1-1/2" long on a 1/4" bolt screwed into a hole just in front of the pto belt guard. This stops the belt from sagging and continuing to spin the thrower when its disengaged.

Kalin it looks like you have one of the early style blowers without the braces that go to the frame. I talk about that briefly in the install video. Let me know if you have any questions based on the video so I can either edit for clarity or re-make a particular part.

Sorry for the length of the video I know folks prefer them short and sweet.

Kalin the snow blower will fit your 1966. The braces were added because if you ram a lot of things with the blower you could damage the front mounting points on the tractor. JD added the braces after having to warranty that type of problem. If you use some common sense the lack of braces will not be a problem. You could find or make a set you and add them. Roger

Okay thanks Roger Henning and hope to get it on once I'm done mulching leaves etc with it.

Thanks Colton Debower. Seems to hardly ever been used also. Is Kansas and we don't get much snow here. Snow blower is really not necessary here in Kansas. Very rare we get a lot of tall/thick snow.

I am more than happy with my model 36 on my RF. We had a harsher than normal winter in 2013/early 2014.
Our dog was basically penned in with the snow and was getting cabin fever.(started to chew things up in the house.) I decided to tackle the entire winter snowfall at once to make a running path for him. The pic doesn't show it too well, but that was about 2 feet of hard pack snow, with a layer of ice in middle. Took a couple tries to get moving but once I did, it handled it no problem!
