I am looking for either a 38" or 48" mower deck for a 285 lawn & garden tractor. I don't have any of the mounting hardware so I would need that as well. I am located in Brunswick. OH which is just south of Cleveland. Thank you!

If you buy a 46”, buy one with the newer style drive pulley with the common size replacement bearings not the one with the 66$ bearing that you can never press out of the pulley. Pics to follow

TempletonJDguy I was able to locate an NOS 48" deck with the Tricycler attachment installed. I knew the shells were still available from Vintage Parts but at $1,500 plus tax and freight it wouldn't have been very cost effective to build my own. After poking around calling dealer after dealer I was able to locate the one I needed for a song. The fellow at the dealership said they honestly had no idea what models it fit. I do appreciate your help though!

Nice! I like the 48” decks, didn’t know that they made one for the 285. I have that style for the lx/gt series and they mow beautifully! Also the grease nipples on top of the spindles are great. I also like that huge spring assist on the late 200 series. 👍🏻
Templeton the cut quality on those decks are hard to beat! I also had a 98’ GT275 with the 48” and it blew my current X500 out of the water. This 285 project has definitely been fun and once I’m done with it I’ll be able to truly enjoy mowing again
