I think it is basically the same deck as a model 47, but with the extra wheels. On JDparts, I don't think it has a model number, but listed rather as a 46" deck for a 212. If you go into JDparts, get onto the page for the 212 etc tractors, and scroll way down to the bottom, it shows related catalogs.
Need help identifying deck on 212
Just picked up a 212. I think it has a 46in deck. It has 4 wheels. I tried to type in the serial number to google and to John Deere parts and both came up with nothing. The serial number is M00673X538507. Would like to figure it out so i can see the parts blow up on the John Deere site

I was able to access the site. Thanks for telling me about the bottom of the page. John deere calls it a 46-Inch Tractor-Mounted Rotary Mower (For 200 Series) - PC1938. I have a new question. Because this deck has 4 wheels where you set them to the proper cutting height do I need to use the deck height screw between my legs or do i just keep that in the lowest position and let the deck free ride over the lawn?
Set the deck/cut height with the knob, then set the wheel height...the wheels are just an anti-scalping feature...deck should hang/float freely from the tractor frame.
Now my 330 has the same looking deck but that has hydraulic up and down. For that deck i set the 4 wheels to a 4in cut and then lower it down so it rides on the ground. There is no knob on that tractor to set the deck height. This 212 i have having the same deck as the 330 and the same sticker on the deck shows how to set the deck for a certain cut height how would i know what height the deck is via the knob. Omg. I just reread the sticker on the deck explaining how to set the mower height with the wheels 1/4in off the ground. I have been mowing wrong with my 330 the entire time. Ugh no wonder the wheels dig into the lawn when turning. I was basically dragging the deck around like a mid mounted blade.
Does the 330 have the adjustment at the rear rockshaft? It should be a big threaded rod with a roll pin through the end. That (if it's like the 332/318) should adjust the down position stop.Omg. The height of the blades is measured from flat ground below the tires, like a decent concrete pad or something level. Then adjust your wheels up 1/4".

The depth STOP set by the knob on these tractors sets the lowest point you want for the deck...typically your mowing/cut height.
Get the deck level with wheels up, side to side by adjusting one of the deck hanger straps...the other isn't adjustable. Put it on a level smooth slab and check height of the blade tips/edges front to rear and side to side. I set all mine at 3.5 inches.
You're also supposed to have the nose/front of the deck slightly lower than the rear.
Raise the deck up, turn the STOP knob in or out to get the cut height you want...takes a while to find this knob setting. Lower the deck, check blade tip/edge height...and adjust until you get the height you want. Raise the deck fully between each adjustment, drop it to check/recheck blade height.
I mark my fender pan with 2 pieces of white duct tape, one on fender deck, one on knob. When aligned the height is right.
Then drop the wheels slightly below the edge of the deck...now they hang like the deck, but keep the deck/blades out of the dirt/rocks, etc.
After a while you can raise/lower the depth STOP pretty accurately from the seat. Meanwhile you get a good arm workout with the deck lift lever! Unless you have a hydro tractor with power lift.
On your 330 use the big threaded rod on the rockshaft to adjust the depth STOP...like Drafter says.
Yes i have that. I always figured it was a stop for some other implement. I knew it was the stop today after figuring out the deck.
It will be interesting to see what my lawn looks like after adjusting. Thanks for explaining it.
