I am trying to put a 322 back in working order, it came partly disassembled, I have pretty much got most things fixed/repaired/replaced but I don't know exactly how and where to mount the battery tray and battery, a picture would be very helpful.

Thanks, Brian

Brian,

Here is an illustration from the TM1590 that shows the battery orientation and the clamp along the rear edge. I don't have any photos of either of my 322 tractors that are any more informative than this one from the Deere document.

The battery tray under the battery itself has a formed ledge on its underside that fits with the metal framing in that area. It should be fairly evident as to which way it is to be installed. Again, I don't have any picture to go along with that description.

Chuck,

Thanks for the information, I don't know why I did not think to look in jd parts until after I saw your picture, I was missing the crossbar that goes between the hood supports, scrounged around the shed and found it so now I can put in the battery, add the seat and take it for a test drive tomorrow.

Thanks again, Brian
