What am I missing or doing wrong? I bought a round fender 110. I changed transaxles because the one that was in it had 2nd gear problems and I changed engines (both engines K181). When I got it back together it would grind a little going into gear so I decided to adjust clutch, brake etc. I adjusted it just as the service manual said to but had no brakes, so I went back over everything a second time and still no brakes.

You do have a brake pad right?? I had one fall out leaving just the outer band. Does the brake pedal pull the brake band?

I found the problem. Fender bolt was just a little to long and went in against the brake assembly preventing it from closing completely around brake drum.
