Yes, it is a 1966. JD switched to that starter generator cover with the 3 ribs mid year 1966.

From that picture you can see the vin tag, 66 had the bare aluminum stripe (where the model & numbers are stamped) through the middle. On a 65 the “110” had black around it so that aluminum stripe was broken up. Also, 66 was the first year with “variable speed” on the dash above the steering column.
Can’t see the hitch in that picture.

110 is indeed a 66. Mercury Comet is a 65 Caliente 289 hi-po. Kids car is more fun than my old truck. Just found a 65 hitch and a Brinly plow.... time to plow up the yard for next year.

Also, Deere switched to welding on the footrests in 1967, those are bolted on so pre-'67, and as mentioned the "Variable Speed" did not appear on the dash until 1966.
