Does a 317 have a negative ground. Does the cable from the starter go to the neg. or pos. post on the battery? I need to install the battery and I can't tell which way it should go.

Here is the wiring diagram. It is negative ground as are all JD LGT machines that I have ever seen, but I don't claim to be any sort of an expert, just a hobbyist paying attention to all my own projects...

Thanks for the info. I thought it was always a negative ground but I wanted to be sure. Sometimes it's better to ask than to just go ahead and try it. Thanks again for the help and have a great day. Don
