Rear Axle Grease Fittings

Has anyone installed grease (Zerk) fittings in between the roller bearing race and the axle lip seal on a 300 series rear dif? It looks like there is just enough room to drill and tap 1/4-28 for a grease fitting on the left and right side to lube the rear axle roller bearings.

I have a 52 broom I would like to mount on a 455 tractor. The 455 is equipped with the proper quick tatch hitch and the proper long drive shaft with carrier bearing. (I presently use it for snowblowing) I have been told by my dealer that the 52 broom drive shaft is not compatible to a 455. It can only be used on an X series tractor. They said I would have to custom make a driveshaft to use the 52 broom on the 455. Is anyone aware of a driveshaft that will work between the tractor and the broom. Thank you!
Jim
I have a 52 broom that I put on my 455AWS. I bought the 52 broom used, and it came with the driveshaft. It mounted right up with no trouble. I think, but am not 100% sure, that it came from a X series tractor.

Wayne,

Thank you for your response. I just purchased the broom and with the extreme cold I haven't had the opportunity to try to put the broom on the 455 as I still have the snowblower on. I didn't understand the dealer's comments as the snowblower that I put on the tractor is only a few years old and mounted without any driveshaft issues. I have a cozy cab on the 455 and I would like to sweep with a tractor with a cab.
I will post when I have the broom on the 455.

Thanks,
Jim
