I have a two wire clutch now, can I use a single wire clutch in my 318? If so please explain how I do this, will I have to make a harness adapter?

Wayne,

The harness connector (X26) for the two wire clutch has a blue wire and a black wire. Just connect the single wire from the older style PTO to the blue wire in the harness connector.

The single wire PTO is thought to be less reliable electrically than the two wire version, but if you have a good one it should work for you in the new harness connected this way...

Thanks Chuck, make sense now that you mentioned it. I wasn't sure & didn't want to damage things in the heat of the troubleshooting.
