Just curious here ... why are there generally only 3 screws/bolts in the Onan stator coils when there's 4 holes? Thx, Bryan

Idk the answer to that question but I’ll add that a lot of the bolt holes on these Onan engines go directly through to inside of the engine and thread sealant should be used on the screws/bolts to prevent oil seepage.

There are 4 bolts which attach the coil to the engine. The coil plate has 3 studs on it with spring and elastic stop nuts to adjust the clutch gap. From PC1924

If you are speaking of the stator under the flywheel it's because of other items mounted there namely a pickup.
