STX 38 Black Deck hard to shift

Has become very hard to shift gears. My wife has to use two hands to shift gears -- now I have to mow. This just seemed to happen over the past few weeks. checked the linkage and it looks good to this untrained eye. shot oil on each of the moving parts that I could see. Manual mentioned a compression spring adjustment - but could not see such a thing,

John welcome to WFM. Having said that you need to go to the forum below this one "John Deere Lawn Tractor and Late Model Garden Tractor Forum" as that is were you will get the correct answer for your late model tractor. Roger
